George Littrell Jr.

George Littrell Jr, “Frank”, has been working for Midwest Feeders, Inc. in Ingalls, Kansas for over 31 years. A native of Alva, Oklahoma, Frank, his wife, and infant twins made the move to Kansas in February of 1993. 

Frank’s first position was feed truck driver, which he enjoyed. His passion for caring for cattle soon moved him to the head cowboy position. He recalls, “When I began as head cowboy everything was pencil and paper. We would record treatment records on index cards.” When Frank started with Midwest Feeders, Inc., the yard had a one-time feeding capacity of 4,500 head. Over the years the yard has expanded to over 90,000 head and Frank’s role has followed suit. 

As the current Cattle Foreman, he runs a crew of 21 cowboys, 2 outside processing crews and works weekly with our consulting veterinarians. The cattle management system has vastly changed over the years and is now completely computer-based. The AMS software Frank uses daily tracks animal health including treatments, processing, implanting, shipping, receiving and inventories. As Frank’s role has expanded, he will tell you he misses riding pens daily, but he really enjoys working with his team and the cattle. 

Frank has been essential in the expansion of the company and is extremely well-versed in cattle health and handling. Frank is incredibly organized and maintains immaculate records. He excels at managing people. It would be a challenge to find a more loyal employee or friend than Frank.  

When Frank is not at the feedyard he enjoys spending time at the lake with his family and playing with his 4 grandchildren. He has passed on his passion for the cattle feeding industry and great work ethic to his son, who is the Mill Foreman for Midwest Feeders, Inc. We are extremely lucky to have Frank on our team.
