Kent Bamford

Bamford Feedyard Haxtun, CO

At an early age, Kent Bamford learned the importance of dedication and persistence in doing what you love. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1974 with an Agricultural Business degree. He and his wife Naida then returned home to Haxtun, Colorado to continue their cattle and farming operation along with his brother, whom he eventually bought out. Bamford Feedyard was started as a small yard, growing to 15,000 head capacity.  Growth included utilizing additional feedyards, stocker operations in Colorado and Wyoming, a diversified farming and trucking operation and a feed additive company. Their two sons, Chad and Cody, are both now involved in the family businesses.

Kent’s involvement in the cattle industry is a passion for him. He has served as President of Cattle-Fax and President of Colorado Livestock Association. He served two terms on the Cattlemen’s Beef Board and served as a committee chairman. He was an officer of the Colorado Beef Council, a longtime NCBA member including committee chairman and a participant in YCC. He has served on several CSU committees and Colorado Governor appointed committees being chairman of one. He is presently President of his local Hospital Board and Scholarship chairman of the Haxtun Methodist Church.
